Volunteer Agreement for Rescue Missions & Public Events

As a volunteer with Shining Light Animal Rescue, I understand that I am representing the organization and its mission during all rescue missions, trapping operations, and public events. I agree to uphold the following responsibilities and expectations while serving in this role:

🐾 Rescue Missions (Including Trapping & Field Work):

• I will follow all rescue protocols, safety guidelines, and instructions provided by the rescue leadership.
• I understand that the rescue is responsible for the actions and decisions made by its volunteers on any case, and I will not act independently without prior approval from a rescue director or team lead.
• I will not share information about the specific location of trapping sites, equipment setups, or findings with the public or on social media. This is to protect the animals, equipment, and success of the operation from interference, including the risk of animals being scared away or equipment being stolen.
• I will use humane, approved equipment and adhere to safe animal handling practices at all times.
• I agree to be cautious when handling unfamiliar, frightened, sick, or injured animals, understanding the inherent risks involved.
• I acknowledge that Shining Light Animal Rescue is not responsible for any injuries, illnesses, or damages I may sustain during volunteer activities, including those caused by animal bites, scratches, or other incidents.
• I will immediately report any injuries, concerns, or incidents to rescue leadership.

🎉 Public Events & Community Outreach:

• I will serve as a welcoming, professional, and informed representative of Shining Light Animal Rescue.
• I will share only accurate, approved information about the rescue’s mission, animals, and programs.
• I will follow event-specific guidelines and instructions from event organizers or rescue leadership.
• I will stay aligned with the rescue’s messaging and values in all public interactions.

📲 Social Media & Public Communication:

• I will only share official posts and information directly from Shining Light Animal Rescue’s website and social media accounts.
• I will not make independent posts or statements about active cases, trapping operations, or rescue missions.
• I will avoid sharing specific details about trapping sites, animal statuses, or ongoing cases without permission from the rescue director.

I have read and understand the responsibilities and expectations listed above. I agree to follow these guidelines while volunteering for Shining Light Animal Rescue. I further acknowledge and accept the risks involved in animal rescue and field operations, and I release Shining Light Animal Rescue from liability for any injuries or incidents that may occur during my participation.
